Get Ready for iOS 13 – A New Era for Apple Devices!

This Thursday, September 19, 2019, Apple is planning to release iOS 13 for iPhone and iPod Touch, Watch OS 6 for Apple Watch Series Three and Four, and presumably, TVOS 13 for AppleTV HD and 4K, though this last part has not received an official announcement. Also available on Thursday will be the brand new Apple Arcade service. Then, iPad OS and iOS 13.1 will be released on September 30, 2019. These new releases will make available hundreds of new and exciting features. This article will help ensure that your devices are ready for all the new and exciting software. Preparing For the New Software:

Before you begin installing the latest Apple software, be sure to read this entire post for helpful information. The first question to answer is, does my device support iOS 13 and iPad OS. The latest software is supported on all of the following devices (if your device is not listed here, it will not be supported):

  • IPhone 6S and 6S Plus
  • IPhone SE
  • IPhone 7 and 7 Plus
  • IPhone 8 and 8 Plus
  • IPhone X
  • IPhone XR
  • IPhone XS and XS Max
  • IPhone 11/11 Pro/11 Pro Max
  • IPad Air 2
  • IPad Air 3
  • IPad Fifth Generation
  • IPad Sixth Generation
  • IPad Seventh Generation

  • IPad Mini, Fifth Generation

  • AppleTV 4K

Pre-install Check List:

In order to take advantage of all the new software has to offer, please be sure that you have your device passcode, your Apple ID, and your Apple ID Password. Also ensure that you are using Two-Factor Authentication on your Apple ID. For questions please contact TTJ.

Additionally, make sure you have a current iCloud back-up for each of your devices. If TTJ has configured your devices, all settings should be configured correctly to allow this. If not, you can double-check by going to Settings> Your Name> iCloud> iCloud Back-up. Be sure that it is enabled. Your device will back up automatically whenever it is plugged in, on Wi-Fi, and asleep.
