Course Notification Messages:

if you have signed up for any of the four courses being offered, you should have now received a notification message asking you to join the course through a service called “Remind”. Remind is a free service that lets you receive important course-related messages as texts or emails. Important! All students, in all four courses, have now been added to the Remind app. Whenever possible, texting was used. In cases where a phone number was not available or usable, we sent emails instead. please check both. Don’t forget to check junk folders as well.

it is very important that you follow any instructions to allow future messages from this service. For example, if you were asked to click a Join link, or to reply “Yes”, or anything else, please do it. You must follow any instructions in order to keep receiveing course-related announcements.

additionally, due to the incredible number of participants, we will be using one Remind group for all four courses. the Remind group may still carry the label “Tech300”, but please know that this group is for all four courses. so, even if you are not taking Tech300, iOS At the Next Level, please accept the invitation anyway, as we will use the same group for all four courses. again, please follow instructions, regardless of which course, or courses, you are taking. failure to follow any necessary steps will result in your missing important course info. if you accidentally deleted your invite without agreeing to or following the proper procedures, please contact TTJ immediately.

Live Teaching Sessions:
Live teaching sessions for each course will be held on the specified dates. All of our live sessions will use the Zoom Cloud Meetings platform. Zoom is a powerful, web-based conferencing platform that permits two-way audio, video, screen sharing, and much more. For our TTJ courses, we often use audio only – not video. To join our Zoom meetings, AKA the live teaching sessions, all you’ll need is a broadband internet connection (Wi-Fi or cellular) and a supported device.
Supported devices include:
  • IPhone
  • IPad
  • iPod Touch
  • Macintosh
  • Windows PC
Other devices may be supported. For more information, visit the Zoom website at
For Apple iOS users, you can visit the App Store and search for “Zoom”. Then, download the Zoom Cloud Meetings app. No further action is required until our first live teaching session. However, if you wish, you may create a free Zoom account. This can make it easier to save Zoom app settings.
When it is time to join, you will need a meeting ID or a join Link. Both are provided below. The meeting ID will remain the same for all TTJ courses and all sessions. Please save this meeting ID.
Meeting ID:
Join Link:
We recommend that you join each live session a few minutes early to ensure proper audio and connection. The first session of each course will be open approximately 20 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. Future course sessions will open between five and ten minutes before the scheduled start time. Until the course is open, you will not hear any audio, even if other participants have joined the course. The first time you join, or every time if you do not log into a free Zoom account, be sure to choose “Call Using Internet Audio” if you are prompted with options for how to join. TTJ does not support phone call-ins. People who call in from a traditional telephone instead of an internet connection may be muted by TTJ to preserve session audio quality. The first time you use the Zoom app, you may be asked to allow microphone access. Choose “Allow”. If you wish to set up a test Zoom meeting, please contact TTJ at least one week prior to the start date for your particular course.
Course Materials:
TTJ uses the free iTunes U platform for all course materials. Apple iTunes U is a powerful online course system. We will use iTunes U to distribute audio demos and tutorials, video materials, various written documents, web links, digital books, and even assignments. Students can also ask questions and participate in discussions using iTunes U. Finally, course-related announcements are available in the iTunes U platform.
Note that our courses are private. This means that you will not find any of our TTJ courses in the iTunes U Course Catalog. Rather, you will need a course code or an enroll link. These will be provided to you via text message as the time for your specific course approaches.
On behalf of myself and the entire TTJ Instructor Team, we sincerely appreciate your joining these courses, and we welcome you to this awesome world of learning.
